The County Line

Good service and food was great. Big Texas style meal! Def try the home made bread, their baked potatoes (are on steroids) and can even share a plate!

As a student of the culinary arts I came to Texas for one thing. BBQ. And the County Line on the River Walk completely exceeded my hopes and expectations. Great food and great service. Bayle is a fantastic waitress and I'll sit in her section every time.

Ribs are tender & flavorful. Love that the BBQ sauce is served on the side. Sausage is nice & peppery. Green beans have a really good flavor. Mac n Cheese was hot & creamy, nothing special but satisfactory. Not a big selection of BBQ meats though. Nice location on the Riverwalk.

I should have read these reviews before we went. First, they don’t have pulled pork and that is the only barbecue my wife eats. We should have left but she decided to order a steak. She ordered her filet medium rare and it came out well done. My brisket was dry and lacking flavor. We sent back the steak and brisket. The second go they undercooked the steak and the brisket was so fatty I couldn’t eat it. This has to be the worst Texas barbecue I have ever had. The food here is a joke. The only reason they are still open is because of their location. Don’t make the mistake we did. Go somewhere else! Our waiter, Derek, did a great job.

Despite being incredibly packed for new years eve, we were seated within 20 minutes and our server tended to us immediately. We also found out that they were operating under extended hours for new years eve, which is a bonus. I ordered the grilled chicken wings, which were crispy and good. Overall, the food lived up to the hype. Some restaurants on the river walk are more so tourist attractions than places with good food. This one did not disappoint.

Food and service was excellent. Ordered the 2nd cut brisket, so tender you didn't need a knife. Our server was attentive and friendly and made some suggestions to people in our party that were on the fence on what they wanted. We were able to sit outside next to the river without a wait. Would recommend.

Wow...super underwhelmed. We were dreaming of giant beef ribs and they are no longer on the menu. Boo! So we ordered a 5 meat platter only to be disappointed. Everything was cold and lacked the smoky taste we were was expecting. Beautiful presentation but overall not impressed.

Perfect Margarita, fantastic Bufalo chicken wings and very good Pork Ribs. Ask for Jose, he was very nice and smailing help

I’ve never had an experience like this. The food was good, but the service made me feel like royalty! I’m not picky, but my waiter bent over backwards to make sure I was 100% satisfied. I found that San Antonio has the nicest people out of any city I’ve been to, and the best of the best work at County Line

Service, drinks, and location a were good but if your looking for good BBQ THIS IS NOT THE PLACE! Beans and mac n cheese were runny and tasted worse than out the box/can. The brisket and turkey wasn't great either. Small portions and could barely taste the smokiness. All in all an armature could have done a better job. I would go somewhere else. PS bread was good.

The waitress was incredible. The food was good, too. Definitely a place with a friendly atmosphere with a good selection of what I'd call comfort food. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to return again.

Location is right on the river walk with great outdoor seating. We were seated promptly and our order was taken. All in all an okay experience with good food.

PLEASE READ REVIEWS BEFORE GOING. poor poor food, beans was poor, Mac cheese was pure nasty. Brisket is nothing to write home about. I can go on and on, food was cold, no barbecue sauce. They are selling you the location and the warm stand outside. Avoid at all cost.

Food was good but the service was awful. I had the brisket plate, beans and garlic mashed potatoes. Everything tasted good. I was concerned about the lean meat as I usually like a wetter cut of meat but this was surprisingly tender for the cut. Unfortunately once my meal was brought out I never saw my waiter again, believe me I looked for him.

Pretty solid BBQ place and great atmosphere. Save room for cobbler.

Great location right on the water. Food was all "just ok", if you are in the mood for bbq you will get your fix but with all the options right along the water I rather would have paid a little more for better food. Interior is fun with cool decor and Texan themes

This spot simply knows how to satisfy their customers. Constantly with a very welcoming approach. The food is fairly priced, regularly tasty and neat.

I am very happy to write a review about this "restaurant". The place is very beautifiul with industrial decoration. There are many tables inside for winter months and during summer there are also and outdoor seatings.

We love the County Line for the service & atmosphere. I wouldn't say it's the best BBQ in SA but it's pretty decent and averagely priced.

Cedric, the waiter was awesome. He is the one who'll make me return. Yes, the food was good but the atmosphere was a little "eeehhh". We're visiting from NC, so I expect my experience here to be great and Cedric made sure of that, all my himself !!

Probably one of the better deals on the Riverwalk. Brisket, beef and pork ribs, sausage plus burgers are all here. Of course they have fries, potato salad, coleslaw and beans as sides. My order of the brisket tacos, beans and iced tea was just a bit over $15. Given the quality and amount of food plus its location, this is an excellent choice for lunch or dinner.

For the meal, the BBQ was average. The margarita was really good. The view of the river was very nice, but the tables and chairs are extremely cheap and uncomfortable. Called ahead and spoke with Miranda who assured us of our confirmed group reservation. Arrived at the restaurant on time, but the hostess, Maribel rudely claimed we never called and blamed their lack of communication on me. Absolutely the WORST customer service we have experienced in San Antonio. So disappointing. Should have went elsewhere, but moving a large group is difficult, so we decided to wait it out. Oh well. I’d recommend going elsewhere.

If your looking for beef ribs this is the restaurant to come.food is delicious n the red potatoes w rosemary they r so tasty.

Water taste bad. Barbecue sauce is sugary. Steak was good. Turkey and brisket bland. If you sit on the patio you're going to hear a lot of exhaust noise from surrounding buildings.

The smoked pepper turkey (I think that's what it's called) was addictive! The house bbq sauce was amazing as well. The customer service was superb and our server was very attentive. Make sure you stop by while roaming The Riverwalk in SA.

Excellent sliced brisket with a very good sauce. Fantastic HUGE Caesar "side" salad.

Looking for some bbq on The San Antonio Riverwalk and found the County Line. Place had a nice crowd and good vibe. Our waiter was Nick/Nicky, he was an excellent waiter and did a nice job. We ordered the half rack of ribs appetizer and a sausage plate and chicken plates for our entrees. Everything was good.

Excellent ambience, amazing location by the river but the ribs were not cooked well. I had to struggle eating it. Not only were the ribs hard, but it took some effort to rip the meat off the bone. For what it's worth, the BBQ sauce was pretty good and made the ribs a bit better. I got the pork and beef ribs combo. Sadly both of them were super hard to eat. Especially the pork rib. As you can see in my pictures, none of the ribs were eaten clean. Usually all my ribs are spotless. This shouldn't have cost $30 dollars.

Beautiful on the River Walk. However the food was average. My Margarita was good and the home made bread good, but sliced too thick. The red mashed potatoes were tasty, but my Turkey and Brisket were cold. My husband and brother in law enjoyed the big beefy ribs, but said the Potato salad was a little "oniony" my brother in law shared.

Wow! This place is a gem. The food is wonderful. The roast turkey was super moist. The ribs are good. We ate out on the River walk and it is more quiet then some of the other river walk restaraunts. Awesome garlic mashed potatoes. Great 1000 island sauce. The service was generous and kind. I will be coming back.

Locations on River Walk tend overwhelmingly to be tourist traps. The County Line at River Walk leans this way too. I ate there on 01/06/20. The service was the best aspect of the experience. That was 5 stars. But the BBQ was fair to middling, and the prices were 25-30% higher than the going rate. The cleanliness of the restaurant is an issue. The residual grease smell is strong. The place could use a good cleaning. The men's room was a swamp. Something is wrong in there. I have heard that other locations in this chain are better.

Ordered BBQ pork ribs and Brisket BBQ sandwich - although the atmosphere here is quite comforting.. The Pork Ribs were dry and tough to eat considering the meat did not come off the bone easily. The ribs also were not Seasoned enough. The brisket in the BBQ Brisket Sandwich was dry and even with the bbq sauce.. It really did not take great at all.I was highly disappointed with the quality of the food. I hadn't been to a County Line in over four years so I thought I'd give it another try and it didn't do me so well.

Stop here without looking at the reviews and I started to regret not looking first. The bread and butter was great. The customer service was great. We order two 5 meat combos, the ribs were over cook. For being a BBQ place they are missing the most important thing, and that is a good BBQ sauce. The two bbq sauces they have were so bad I had to order A1 sauce. Yes A1 on ribs. But no luck. I left the food behind, paying $76+ for nothing really. Once again the Bread and butter was great. Ask your employee for feed back. Please.

The food here was quite good and came in large portions, and the location was great, but the best part was how fast and friendly the service was. We ordered a 5-meat sampler for two, two sides, and bread, and our food and water was at our table within three minutes after ordering! I've never had the food arrive so quickly at a sit-down restaurant before this.

I will return to The County Line next time I visit San Antonio. The Smoked Sausage appetizer was great, but the Brisket Tacos were outstanding!!! Right on The River Walk so it gets a little busy, but still not a long wait for food to come. Servers were very friendly. I look forward to a chance to try more from the menu.

Ordered the brisket that should be extra moist and it was dry. Tasted like two day old brisket that has been reheated several times. The staff is attentive and friendly, location by Riverwalk is awesome. Stopped by during lunchtime on a nice cool day.

Driest BBQ I've ever eaten. 😳😳😳 French fries were good....so was ice tea.Brisket...not so much. Ducks were aiiiiiiiight. 😁

So we ordered, and then we waited a full hour to get our food. My son in law ordered the beef brisket and it was so small that it was the size of my thumb. His wife and my daughter were okay with their food. My taco was a little chewy tho. My sister ordered an ice cream, but it took so long that we decided to leave (just for 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream.)

Pretty good BBQ food here, but a bit too expensive. Very good service and servers.

They were able to accommodate gluten free, but their food was mediocre at best. Same goes for their mango margarita.

Met with fellow vet, & his family as son graduated from Lackland. Cute country atmosphere, good food, slow service.

My GF and I waited till the last day of our trip to visit the County Line BBQ because we wanted to experience some really good Texas BBQ. Sadly this is not what we got. The food was boring and honestly didn’t taste fresh. The sausage tasted no different than anything you can get at a grocery store. The fries were mushy. And the turkey and brisket was dry and flavorless. Also the BBQ sauce was nothing special. This location is not worth a return trip. If you want average BBQ this is where to come. Side note our waiter was really pushy and gave us no space the entire visit.

We stopped by for a drink. Comfortable picnic table type setting right on the River Walk. Great service. The place was bustling with folks having their BBQ.

Our waitress Erin was terrific. Started with delicious wings. Then Brisket and Ribs followed with slaw and fries and everything was tasty. Only disappointment was Pecan Pie for dessert, not good. Should have listened to Erin who recommended the Bread pudding which my friend ordered and was great. Good food, great service.

There was no line when we got to the hostess. She gave us a table outside and sat us down. After 20 minutes we had to go back to her and ask if our waiter will be coming soon. After the waiter decided to show us, she took our orders which was a salad, cheesecake, milkshake, 3meat platter, and bread. We waited over 45 minutes for the food to come out. Again, the place was not full and for a 3pm Sunday afternoons and it was very poor customer service.Not to mention the fact that after 40 minutes of waiting, we went in and asked why out food is not coming out yet and then for them to bring the food out in 5 minutes... You know they did not care at all about our table or their service. The waitress kept rolling her eyes. Definitely no one there deserve a tip and this pace will start loosing customers as quickly as they walk in!

1st day food was amazing 2nd day they closed earlier than scheduled not happy about that 3rd day they made up for it with the Wings Good look. Cedric and Jimmy john was the staff that waited on us....

Your paying to eat on the river walk, not for the food. Service was good. Meat not worth the price.

Long wait, but the food was good. Could have been a little better, didn't like the BBQ sauce. We got the dinner for two. Turkey and brisket were the best. Bread was awesome. Priced just right! Our server was terrific!

The food was okay. The waiter forgot our order and we had to remind them of the other dish. They claim they burnt it but neglected to make it.
